Silver Creek Elementary kindergarten teacher Kacie Krneta was recognized at the December 16 school board meeting for receiving the Lamar Award of Excellence from the Azle Masonic Lodge. 💚 The Lamar Award of Excellence is awarded to students and educators by Texas Masonic lodges in their communities in recognition of outstanding personal achievement in academics, citizenship, community service, or sports. This prestigious award was named in honor of Mirabeau B. Lamar who was known as the “Father of Texas Education” for his work that resulted in the first law mandating public education. On Tuesday, December 17, Azle ISD and Tarleton State University welcomed nine new teacher residents to our district! Each of our teacher residents will begin in January 2025 and will be paired with cooperating teachers at Cross Timbers, Eagle Heights, Hilltop, and Silver Creek Elementary Schools. 💚💜 They will begin their year-long residency with their cooperating teachers in January and complete the program in December 2025 to become certified teachers. 👏 Let’s give them all a big Azle ISD welcome!
