Wide shot of the azle band performing at finals

For the first time in 13 years, the Azle Marching Green Pride has advanced to the UIL State Marching Contest!

On Saturday, October 24, the MGP competed among 30 of the area’s best programs at the UIL 5A Area F Marching Contest at Birdville Fine Arts/Athletics Complex. After earning a spot in the top 12 during the preliminary round, the band delivered an outstanding finals performance to finish 6th overall, punching their ticket to the 2026 UIL 5A State Marching Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The Marching Green Pride will perform their show, “Delirium,” in prelims on Monday, November 2, at 2:00 PM.

There will be many opportunities this weekend for our Azle community to support the band:

  • Friday, Oct. 30 | State Send-Off at Azle High School at 2:25 PM. (Attendees must check in as a visitor before entering the campus.)

  • Friday, Oct. 30 | Send-Off Performance in Hornet Stadium at 8:00 PM (will be moved to the indoor facility in the event of inclement weather). Rehearsal is also open to the public from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

  • Sunday, Nov. 1 | Community Send-Off at 12:00 PM when the band departs for San Antonio in front of the AHS band hall.

We are so proud of all the hard work, dedication, and countless hours these Hornets have put into their award-winning show this season. Congratulations, MGP!
