Azle ISD update (decorative image)

Azle ISD has issued the following statement regarding a civil lawsuit (Doe vs Azle ISD) filed on August 12, 2025, involving allegations of misconduct by a former employee during the alleged time frame of 2021-2023:

Azle ISD remains deeply committed to the safety, well-being, and protection of every student in our care.

Regarding the recent civil filing, our first priority is to acknowledge the courage of the victim and the heavy burden this situation has placed upon her and her family. We stand with our community in hoping that the ongoing criminal proceedings deliver full justice and hold the individual responsible for these actions accountable.

While the District generally does not comment on the specifics of pending litigation, it is necessary to clarify our position regarding the recent motion to dismiss. This legal filing is based on the District’s challenge to the plaintiffs' allegations that school officials had prior knowledge of the inappropriate relationship.

We cooperated closely with the Azle PD throughout their almost eight-month investigation, including ensuring they communicated any evidence of findings of Azle ISD employees, current or past, not reporting knowledge of this matter.

We will continue to work closely with the authorities and the court system in the criminal proceedings of this matter.

Azle ISD remains steadfast in our commitment to providing a safe learning environment for all students through continuous staff training and robust reporting protocols. We remain true to our mission, vision, and core beliefs.
