Azle ISD kicked off the 2025-26 school year with our annual Convocation and Vendor Fair at Azle High School on Friday, August 1.
More than 1,100 employees were welcomed by Superintendent Todd Smith, School Board President Bill Lane, Azle Mayor Randa Goode, David Shaffer from the Azle Area Chamber of Commerce, and Azle Education Foundation president Phillippe Lalonde.
Special guest Doug Crawford with Protect Young Eyes spoke about creating safer digital environments for our Hornets and "Protecting Our NEST" -- Noticing the one, Encouraging with purpose, Standing firm in the storm, and Teaching from the heart.
Pledges were led by AHS Student Body President Story Hilliard, and Azle High School Cheer and Hornet Muscle, Dazzlers, and the Marching Green Pride performed to wrap up the event.
More than 120 local businesses and organizations participated in the vendor fair before convocation, allowing Azle ISD employees the opportunity to spend time together while supporting our local businesses, and our vendors donated over 1,200 pounds of food for the Community Caring Center in Azle.
It's going to be an awesome year in Azle ISD! #WeAreAzle
