On Saturday, April 18, 12 of our incredible students represented us at the Junior VASE Art Competition after weeks of hard work, creativity, and dedication alongside their teacher, Coach Mary Smart. Shoutout to our amazing artists: Willow K., Sarah R., Zoey U., Arwyn E., Rachel G., Ella G., Delilah E., Cloe G., Annabeth P., Anna D., John M., and Sawyer N. We are so proud to share that most of our students earned the highest possible score and took home medals for their outstanding artwork! And a very special congratulations to Delilah E., who went above and beyond—earning a Platinum medal for her stunning beaded skirt. This honor is only awarded to a select few, and we couldn’t be more proud! 🏅

In Coach Dinkins’ class, students did a hands-on activity all about teamwork and communication—with a little friendly competition mixed in! Each group worked together to solve a puzzle by practicing positive communication and encouraging one another. Once the puzzle was complete, students had to unscramble our September focus word: INTEGRITY from our Portrait of a Hornet. After finishing, teams recorded their times to see how quickly they could rise to the challenge. What an awesome way to practice integrity in action! 🧩🐝✨

🎉🙌 Shoutout to Mrs. Walsh! Paraprofessional of the Year! 🙌🎉
Today, we're giving a HUGE round of applause to Mrs. Walsh, our incredible Paraprofessional of the Year! 🏆👏 She's the true heart of Forte — the ultimate team player, super organized, and somehow always has everything running like clockwork. ⏰📋
Whether she's supporting students, encouraging her others, or making sure everything runs smoothly, Mrs. Walsh does it all with style, grace, and a whole lot of heart. 💚

⭐ CTE Spotlight ⭐ Today, we're featuring students in Mrs. Browne's Principles of Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications at Forte Junior High!💚
Students have learned about pixelation drawing in Adobe Illustrator and created animated gifs with pixelated artwork on piskelapp.com. They also created backgrounds, characters, and a plot of their storyboards, and took at least 20 photos of the different scenes to create an animation video in Canva. #WeAreAzle #HornetsInAction #CTEMonth

Ms. Schvaneveldt's class at Santo J. Forte Junior High had a special visit from a sugar glider on Friday! 💚 #WeAreAzle #HornetsInAction

Forte Junior High is now a Heart Safe School through Cook Children’s Project Adam. Project ADAM's mission is to educate schools, nurses, coaches, trainers, parents, and community organizations about sudden cardiac death. The program provides free cardiac emergency preparedness resources and training to schools nationwide.
School-based CPR and AED programs establish a community of first responders. First responders improve the likelihood of survival for students, school staff, and visitors with sudden cardiac arrest, and should be encouraged in all schools.
Forte will receive a banner soon to display proudly on their building. Our goal is to have all of Azle ISD schools recognized as a Project ADAM Texas Heart Safe School this school year.

This week in Coach Hill's dollars and sense students learned to write and deposit checks and balance a checking account! #WeAreAzle

The 88th Legislative Session amended state law and the Texas Education Code regarding vaping and e-cigarettes. House Bill 114 requires mandatory placement of a student in DAEP for selling, giving, delivering, possessing, using, or being under the influence of marijuana, THC, or e-cigarettes within 300 feet of school property as measured from any point on the school's real property boundary line, or while attending a school-sponsored or school-related activity on or off school property.
*Azle ISD has vape detectors installed in all restrooms on secondary campuses.
