Academy 4 wraps up each month with Hang Time...that's board games with their mentors! One on one, relationship building, uninterrupted, technology free TIME together.

There was a whole lot of joy on campus Friday morning! Our cheerleader squad joined us to help kick off the school day with bright smiles and encouraging words.

Seeing our students look up to these incredible student leaders reminds us what a supportive community we have. Thank you to our cheerleaders for sharing their time, energy, and leadership with us today!

The smiles, laughter, and energy in the room during hang time is truly amazing. The students and volunteers all enjoy this time. These pictures show only a glimpse.

🍎 Classroom learning in action: Johnny Appleseed applesauce taste test! 🍎

Our kindergarteners followed a step-by-step recipe to make applesauce, then completed taste tests and a class vote. This hands-on lesson taught so many things but here are a few:

Speaking & listening: students described tastes and shared opinions.
Following directions: learners practiced sequencing and fine-motor skills while measuring and stirring.
Social-emotional skills: children practiced turn-taking, respectful listening, and expressing preferences.
Early civic skills: the voting activity introduced decision-making and democratic participation.
Seeing students use academic language while engaged and cooperative was a highlight — who knew applesauce could teach so many skills?! 👇📸

Cross Timbers wants to recogne the Azle Hornets for their leadership in preparing younger athletes through consistent pregame encouragement. This peer-led mentorship supports positive youth outcomes and reinforces school pride.
