Azle ISD Athletics is excited to announce Rechelle Mata as the new Azle High School girls soccer head coach.
Coach Mata comes to Azle ISD from Little Elm ISD, where she served as an assistant soccer coach at Little Elm High School since 2023 and as special education department head. She has also served as a head coach in Wichita Falls ISD and an assistant coach in San Angelo ISD, where she was named TASCO Region 1-4A Assistant Coach of the Year for 2019-2021.
Mata was a four-year varsity player at Lewisville High School and played club soccer with DFW Tornados in the Lake Highlands Classic League.
“My Family and I are very grateful for this opportunity,” said Mata. “My husband will be on campus teaching and coaching as well, and we have a one-year-old daughter who is ready to be a little Hornet. We're excited to join the Azle family and look forward to growing the soccer program and raising productive citizens of the future.”
