Hall of Fame Nomination Guidelines

If you would like to nominate an athlete or specific team, the nomination criteria are as follows: 

  1. Must be an Azle HS graduate

  2. Must be out of school for at least 10 years

  3. Held in high respect during their AHS years and as adults

Student-Athlete - A student-athlete is a former student participant who is being nominated for his or her achievements in Azle High School athletics. To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must have graduated from Azle High School 10 or more years ago. Student-athletes will be judged primarily on the basis of their achievements as high school athletes, however, consideration may also be given to their achievements on the college or professional levels. Demonstration of integrity and character during and after their high school years will be a major consideration. Candidates may not be members of the selection committee when considered for Hall of Fame induction and must be free of felony violations of the law. Posthumous nominations will also be accepted.

Teams - Teams become eligible for nomination 10 years from the outstanding accomplishment they achieved.

Coach/Athletic Coordinator/Administrator - Coaches/Athletic Coordinator/Administrators will be considered primarily for their achievements as senior high school coach. Secondary consideration will be given to the nominee's achievements as a collegiate or professional coach. The nominee's demonstrated character at all levels of his or her career will be considered. To be eligible for nomination, individuals must have served as an Azle ISD Coach/Athletic Coordinator/Administrator for a minimum of five years.  Nomination may not be accepted if they are still an active coach at Azle ISD.  Posthumous nominations will also be accepted.

Contributor - Contributors are individuals who have made important contributions to Azle ISD athletics in areas such as sports media, sports medicine, sports officials, sports announcers, or supporters. Nominees in this category will be considered primarily on the merits of contributions to Azle ISD athletics and must have a record of involvement for a minimum of 10 years. The nominee's demonstrated character will receive consideration. Posthumous nominations will also be accepted.
