Azle ISD Learning @ Home
The Azle ISD Curriculum & Instruction Department has compiled strategies and educational activities that families can use to keep students engaged in learning in the event of a school closure. Learning Resources are organized by grade level and content. Learning Activities contain a combination of low-tech and technology-based options across multiple subject areas, including considerations for student physical and mental wellness.
Our goal is to provide a structure for at-home learning so families have some easy-to-implement activities to prevent regression and learning loss during an extended break.
Below you will find information on what to expect for the first three weeks of this closure:
Week 1 (March 23-27) - Students will access the Azle ISD Learning @ Home website. Click on the Learning Resources and/or Learning Activities tab on the left of the screen. From here your student can explore age appropriate online learning websites in individual subject areas. Week 1 instruction will be self-guided through these websites.
Week 2 (March 30-April 3) - Students will access the Azle ISD Learning @ Home website. Click on the Google Classrooms tab on the left of the screen. Click on your student’s grade level. This will take you to a digital classroom environment where your student will see learning activities in English/writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other special courses. Click Classwork at the top of the page. Lessons will be labeled as “Must-Do or May-Do.” We need each student to complete all of the Must-Do activities each week. The May-Do activities are optional, but are available to provide opportunities for students to extend their learning. Click here for a Week 2 Q&A. (Click here for Week 2 Q&A in Spanish.)
Week 3 (April 6-10) & Beyond - Students will access the Azle ISD Learning @ Home website via classroom Canvas accounts, Google accounts, or other learning management systems classrooms may already be using. For Google accounts, click on the Google Classrooms tab on the left of the screen. Click on your student’s campus name and then click on your student’s teacher’s name. This will direct you to the teacher’s personalized digital classroom. From here you will receive instruction directly from your student’s teacher. You can expect that teachers will have their Azle ISD Learning @ Home digital classroom updated every Sunday by 5pm with the instruction for the upcoming week.
