Varsity Winter Guard Places in Top 10 at National Competition

April 6, 2022

The Azle High School Varsity Winter Guard competed in the NTCA National A Championships at Coppell High School on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

The circuit is composed of high school color guards from across the region that are classified based on skill, regardless of UIL Size Classification. The National A-Class is composed of only the top 15% of approximately 250 units in the circuit.

Out of the 31 nationally competitive groups that performed, Azle placed in the “Grand Champion” top 10 with a fourth-place finish in their round.

The guard has had many successes this season, including a first-place preliminary finish at a competition in Tulsa, OK, as well as two finalist qualifications with Winter Guard International.

Congratulations, Hornets! #WeAreAzle
