Walnut Creek Elementary Principal Selected for District Coordinator Role

Azle ISD is pleased to announce that Jessica Hanson, currently serving as Principal of Walnut Creek Elementary, has been selected to serve as the district’sJessica Hanson headshot Coordinator of Professional Services. This is a new position within the Azle ISD Human Resources Department that will manage the development and implementation of key elements of the district’s strategic efforts including teacher recruitment, mentoring, and retention.

Hanson has been in education for 15 years, with nine years in campus administration. She has served as the principal of Walnut Creek Elementary for the last eight years.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University. Hanson is also a Power of Positive Leadership Trainer of Trainers.

Hanson has three daughters that have all attended Azle ISD since kindergarten and her family is proud to be part of the Azle Hornet community.

“While I am sad about leaving the Walnut Creek family that I have known and loved for the past nine years, I am excited for the new opportunity to help Azle ISD meet the needs of our fast-growing community and district,” said Hanson. “Walnut Creek is truly a magical place filled with the best students, educators, and families I know and has changed my world for the better.”

She will transition into her new role for the 2022-2023 school year and will offer support to the new Walnut Creek principal to ensure a smooth transition for students and their families.
