Having relocated from Chicago, IL, I am looking forward to meeting the students of Azle High School. I began my teaching career with five years in an all-girls Catholic high school, teaching theater, speech, and British Literature. The last two years I have been teaching Industrial Technology (hand drafting, woodworking, and basic acrylic plastics work) at a public middle school just outside of Chicago. I am excited to be back working with high schoolers and sharing my love of British Literature.
I come from a family of educators, my father and older brother were both music teachers. Before teaching, I worked a number of different jobs including stage management, scenic design, technical direction, and scenic painting in theaters around Chicago, 13 years with a professional portrait photographer, on the crew for a pipe organ builder, selling swords at a Renaissance Faire, and 4.5 years at Starbucks. My diverse background brings a broad spectrum of information, creativity, and connections to my classroom.
Outside of teaching, my husband and I enjoy running, theater, movies, and comic cons. We currently have two black cats, Cash and Eddie.
