I love what I do. The organization of knowledge has always been fun for me, and getting to do it on a daily basis is a blessing.

People may wonder what a librarian does all day, so let me list just a few of these things.

*Promote reading. Supply learners with print books, downloadable ebooks, and audiobooks.

*Act as information and search expert at AHS.

*Teach strategies for collecting and evaluating information.

*Teach that the library website is the portal for the best print and online resources available at AHS.

*Make sure learners and teachers can access all available online resources.

*Assist in the research process.

*Include and collaborate with learners.

*Work towards getting rich, digital content wherever students visit.

*Strive to provide a diverse, shared collection.

*Teach that the library is not just a place to get stuff, it's a place to make and collaborate, too.

*Teach everywhere, both inside and outside of the library.

*Fight for the rights of students to have and use the tools they need.

*Contribute to the development of a new branding for the location we call "library".
