Mr. Devon Dorris

Azle High School Head Football Coach Devon Dorris was a graduate of Azle High School in 1995. While in High School at Azle, Coach Dorris lettered in four sports as well as competing in the Choir. He was also named Mr. AHS for the class of 1995. Some of Coach Dorris' honors include being named the District MVP in football, Honorable Mention All-State RB, and 1st Team All-State DB. Coach Dorris was inducted into the Azle Athletic Hall of Fame as a part of the class of 2018.

Dorris went on to play football at Northwestern Oklahoma State University for two years, and Tarleton State University for two years. While at Tarleton, Dorris was named a Team Captain and was twice named the Special Teams MVP.

Coach Dorris graduated from Tarleton State University with a B.A. in History and a Master's in Education Leadership.

This year will mark the beginning of his 22nd year in the teaching and coaching profession, with the previous 21 years at Azle and Boswell High Schools. The 2020-2021 school year will mark Coach Dorris' 11th year as the Head Football Coach at Azle High School.

Dorris and his wife, Keri, have been married for 21 years. Keri is an English and AVID teacher at Azle High School. They have two sons both enrolled in Azle ISD, Dane and Drew Dorris.
