Azle ISD Media Relations Information & Guidelines
All media inquiries should be directed to the Azle ISD Communications Department and the appropriate campus principal or building administrator. Exception: routine athletic and/or extracurricular activity news coverage can be handled by the appropriate coach/sponsor.
The Director of Communications should be contacted when a representative of the media requests to visit a campus or arrives at a campus without prior approval. If a member of the media visits an Azle ISD site without prior approval, he or she should be asked to leave and directed to contact the Director of Communications.
Media personnel may be allowed on campus to interview staff or students during the school day with (1) approval from the Superintendent or Director of Communications and (2) appropriate notification to the campus or building administrator.
All requests for media coverage should come through the district's communications office. The Director of Communications will coordinate all media coverage and determine the best spokesperson for the district.
Student privacy laws are strictly enforced. The guidelines for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) are detailed here.
