Todd Smith, M.Ed.
On June 22, 2020, the Azle ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Todd Smith Superintendent of Azle ISD.
Mr. Smith just completed his 26th school year in Azle ISD, with 13 years in campus administration and six years as a district administrator. He taught agricultural science at the high school, served as a high school assistant principal, principal of Walnut Creek Elementary, director of district operations, assistant superintendent, and has been serving as the district's interim superintendent since March of 2020.
He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University and holds various certifications including superintendent certification and mid-management certification. He is also a member of many professional and community organizations.
He lives in the area with his wife, Shannon. They have two sons who both graduated from Azle High School – Zack in 2008 and Kleg in 2016, and two grandchildren, Madelyn and Barrett.
