Welcome English I Students!

I am Melissa Carter and I am one of the English I teachers at Azle High School.  I am very excited to be beginning my 3rd year at AHS and my 9th year in education.  I received my Bachelor's Degree from Texas Woman's University.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 6 years old so I am defintely living my dream!  

As you can guess, I am an avid reader!  I love discussing books with people and helping readers find their next great adventure.  

Transitioning to high school can be challenging.  Please know that I am here to assist you on your journey.  In addition to academics, I believe that it is extremely important for every student to be involved in a group or club that interests them.  Luckily, Azle High School has over 60 clubs and organizations!  If we work together, I know we can find the place for you.
