Things you should know about my Math class:

  • I send home progress reports every Tuesday except for weeks that they get a report card.  This has all the work from the week before.  Papers turned in Monday will NOT be on this report.
  • This progress report is a grade!  It needs to be signed, and returned, by Friday for a 100.  Progress reports turned in after Friday are considered late and will be given a 50.  If no progress report is turned in, a grade of zero will be assigned.
  • All papers from the previous week will also be returned on Tuesday so that your student can check and make sure I have put in the correct grade.  THIS IS YOUR CHILD'S RESPONSIBILITY.  Any mistakes will be corrected at this time.
  • Any paper below a 70 may be redone Tuesday night and turned back in Wednesday ONLY for a 70.  In order to get credit for a redo, ALL wrong problems must be redone on a separate sheet of paper, stapled to the original paper, and turned back in.

Things you should know about my Social Studies class:

  • I send home a three week progress report.  This is a grade.  It needs to be signed, and returned, by Friday for a 100.  Progress reports turned in after Friday are considered late and will be given a 50.  If no progress report is turned in, a grade of zero will be assigned.
  • Social Studies classes rotate among Mrs. Winters, Mrs. Cato, and myself.  This does not happen every week depending on time constraints and special projects.
  • Papers need to be turned in to whatever teacher assigned that paper.  Grades are shared by the teachers so that all classes have the same assignments included in the six weeks.

Homework helpers:

  • coolmath4kids.com - This website has lessons that correlate to what was taught in the class for those that need some extra help, or want some fun games to help with Math skills.
  • khanacademy.com - This website teaches lessons from middle school through college in a very understandable manner.  This is an excellent site for extra help, or if your child would like to move ahead of the class.
  • The Azle ISD website has many links to help with any subject.  It also has educational games to challenge your child.
  • There is before school tutoring offered in Mrs. Vakoc's class beginning at 7:30 each morning.
