Liberty Elementary held a canned food drive from November 3-21 benefitting the Azle Community Caring Center. The food drive is just one of many Rachel’s Challenge service projects going on at Liberty this year and was sponsored by Mrs. Mazza’s 4th grade class. Liberty set a goal of donating 1,000 cans of food but far surpassed their goal by giving 1,901 food items. Mrs. Snyder’s kindergarten class donated 263 food items which made them the top donating class in the school. Liberty Elementary’s Rachel’s Challenge theme for the 2014-2015 school year is “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Liberty students certainly are “Being the change” by their acts of kindness and compassion to those in need.
