Local Government

The district recognizes the important of strong communications and involvement with the community. Each school has a parent-teacher organization. All schools have strong volunteer programs and the secondary schools have several booster clubs. Committees consisting of parents, non-parents, business people, and senior citizens are appointed periodically by the Board of Trustees to offer recommendations for continued improvements.

Azle City Council

The City Council consists of a Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem, and five council members.  All city council members are elected at large and serve two year terms.

Responsibilities

The Azle City Council enacts local legislation, adopts budgets, determines policies and appoints the City Manager.

Azle City Council meetings are generally held the first and third Tuesdays of the month, occasionally these dates are changed due to conflicts such as elections and holidays.
