Mrs. Myers Class

I am the Special Education Teacher at Cross Timbers Elementary.  I am assigned to students in Kindergarten through 4th grade.  Many of my students are pulled out of class at least 30 minutes a day to work on assignments that are hard to learn or hard to teach.

We at Cross Timbers believe all students are capable of learning.  We teach students according to their preferred learning style. Such as: if they are visual or tactile learners.

We also believe that students learn better when with their peers.  We try to keep all special education students in the general education class the majority of the time.

I also have a Breakfast Club in the morning in which students come in at 7:30 and practice spelling, read AR books, do Math Facts in a Flash or Am Math and homework if they were unable to do it the night before.

I have a Lunch Bunch time as well during the Lunch hour for students who are behind in their work or need extra help on an assignment.

I am very proud of the students who are in Special Education.  They are hard working and determined.  The support of the General Education Teachers is an important factor in the academic and social growth of these students.  Cross Timbers is a wonderful supporting campus and I am very proud to be part of this school.
