Azle ISD Flex Days

Optional Flexible Year Criteria (Flex Days)
2009-10

Azle ISD will incorporate an optional flexible year calendar for the junior highs and the high school for the 2009-10 school year. This calendar will allow for 9 "flex" days where some students will be required to attend and others will not. The purpose of flex days is to provide intensive and accelerated instruction so that all students can be successful.

The following will be considered flex dates:

January 25-27, 2010
February 10-12, 2010
March 22-24, 2010

The following criteria will be used to determine if a student is exempt from attendance on these dates:

•  Must have passed all TAKS tests given in the 2008-09 school year.
•  Must have been present for all TAKS tests given the 2008-09 school year.
•  Must have less than 10 absences for the current semester. For example, if a student has missed 10 or more days, he/she is required to attend the flex days.
• Must not be assigned to DAEP during the flex days.

Any student that has earned the flex days may attend at his/her discretion. Please click here to view Flex Day Offerings for the students who are not required to attend the flex days.

All school rules will be in effect and will be enforced during the flex days.
