My name is Jessica Hanson and I am the new Assistant Principal for Walnut Creek and Eagle Heights Elementary. I am very excited about this school year and I am very blessed to serve the students, staff, and faculty at Walnut Creek Elementary.
I have six years experience in elementary education. My first year teaching was in a special education classroom very similar to Azle's Crossroads program. From there, I taught two years in first grade and found my passion for teaching reading. After teaching first grade, I became the Response to Intervention and LPAC Coordinator for my campus. During that role, I was encouraged by my administrators to pursue my Masters in Education and work towards becoming an administrator. After five years in White Settlement ISD, I changed roles and was blessed to teach a K-5 Resource/CM classroom in Aledo ISD. I hope my experiences and skills in general education and special education will help me to foster great relationships with the teachers and parents at Walnut Creek Elementary.
I have three little girls of my own and have been married for 10 years to my husband Troy. We enjoy family, yard work, home projects, antiquing, and enjoying the simple things in life. The faculty at Walnut Creek, Eagle Heights, and Azle ISD have been so welcoming! I know this will be a wonderful year of learning and growing together!
